August 14′th, 2010 was our all day and night – once a year – motorcycle super sale where we have visitors stopping into our Waukesha, Wisconsin location from all over the country.

Once again, all we can say is we honestly wish to thank each and every visitor that came as well as to all of our clients during 2010.
We appreciate your loyalty, spreading the news about our massive inventory of used motorcycles, and continued patronage.

You can view a small video of customers STILL AT THE STORE close to midnight, when the sale officially ended. While it can’t describe the huge numbers of folks that visited us all day and night, it’s still awesome seeing people there close to 11:30 pm.

First, snowmobiling proves to be quite good for you. American Snowmobiler reports that snowmobiling is a great source of exercise and sunlight during the winter time. While most people are inactive and inside during the winter months, snowmobilers build their core and flexibility. Snowmobiling is also good for those who have Seasonal Affective Disorder, SAD, (Quite the ironic acronym, huh?) as it gives them valuable hours of natural sunlight to prevent the effects of depression. Thus proving that snowmobiling is not just a fun pastime, but also has great health benefits as well.

On safety, Hell for Leather spotlights a product that can further protect your head in case of a crash. It’s an insert that goes into a helmet that triggers the release of water and ammonium nitrate which, when mixed, make the insert turn cold. When head trauma occurs, the brain swells, and because it is held in by the skull, that can cause brain damage. The insert against the head, when cold, will aid in prevent swelling of the brain. That can save your life!

Hell for Leather reports that the product, ThermaHelm, is still in protype stage, so you can’t get it yet. But keep your eyes on this one, it sounds like a great product that can really save lives!

Now the rumors being posed.

I got a call this evening from a fellow who related a rumor that, just prior to the decision to eliminate Buell Motorcycles, Harley-Davidson had gotten an offer–or, at least, the proposal to make an offer–from Bombardier (the parent company of Victory Motorcycles and Can-Am Spyders) to purchase the Buell Division from H-D.

Now, nobody else I know has mentioned this, but I did find a mention of this rumor, or, rather, a similar one, at Motorcycle Daily:

There are of course rumors about Erik Buell traveling to Canada to meet with Bombardier (makers of the Can-Am Spyder). The font of this rumor, a guy posting on a chopper forum, claims a reliable source, but his credibility is undermined, as he lists his hometown as “Bonertown” in his profile.

So, I can definitely confirm that there is a rumor about Buell and Bombardier, for all the good that does you. Unfortunately, that’s all I can confirm about Bombardier. Unless Chopper-Boy from Bonertown has really good sources, it’s probably just an internet rumor, so you shouldn’t get your hopes up about Erik Buell applying for Landed Immigrant status in Montreal.

I can say this, however: I do know that there are a couple of people outside Milwaukee who are very interested in talking to Erik Buell about…ummm…pursuing new challenges. As soon as his 15-month non-compete agreement with H-D expires, of course.

Think what you will of the rumors he mentions specifically, but this does bring up the point that Buell might just not be finished yet. There is still hope.. potentially..

We know we advertise this a lot, but think about this for a moment. It’s already November. It’s getting much colder out. The snow will start coming anytime now. When that happens, you don’t want to be without a snowmobile do you?

Of course not! So make sure you come visit us!

Ok, so maybe you already have a snowmobile or you upgraded recently. That’s ok, this post still has something you as well. Here’s a fun, addicting Snowmobile Stunt game we came across. But be careful, don’t get too caught up in it!

According to news articles, this move comes after an 84 percent drop in net income in the third quarter and will allow Harley Davidson to focus on their cruiser bike market. Because the Italian bike company, MV Augusta, is now paired with Harley this will also expand their European market influence.

Buell bikes can still be bought, provided dealers have any left in stock, but no more will be produced. Harley Davidson will also honor any warranties on bikes and provide replacement parts and service through dealers.

This also spells bad news for East Troy, which will lose 180 jobs from the closing. Employment will end for these folks by December 18.
